The Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga by the Indian Federation of Yoga (IFY) is a specialized one-year advanced program tailored for those who wish to pursue yoga as a therapeutic science, academic discipline, or holistic healing practice. Ideal for graduates, healthcare professionals, and certified yoga instructors, this course focuses on yoga therapy, philosophy, research, and advanced teaching methodology.

  1. Minimum Qualification: Graduation in any stream (Bachelor’s degree)

Syllabus Overview – In-Depth Curriculum

Advanced Yoga Practices & Therapy:
 

Sukshma Vyayama :- 

Neck rolls, shoulder shrugs, wrist and Ankle Rotations, Spinal Twists, Side Bends, Forward Bends, Shoulder and Arm Movements.


Asanas :- 

Standing Position: 

Tadasana, Vriksasana, Hasta Uttanasana, Padahastasana, Trikonasana, Virabhadrasana (1, 2, 3), Garudasana, Uttakatasna, Chakrasana, Natrajasana.

 

Sitting Position: 

Vajrasana, Bhadrasana, Parvatasana, Gomukhasana, Janushirasana, Vakrasana, Ardha Matsyendrasana, Paschimottanasana, Supta Vajrasana, Yoga Mudra, Ushtrasana, Mandukasana, and Mayurasana.

Supine Position: 

Shavasana, Ardha Halasana (one leg/both legs) , Pawan Muktasana (Ardha/Purna), Setu Bandhasana, Crocodile variations, Uttana Padasana, Naukasana, Matsyasana, Halasana, Sarvangasana, and Vipritakarni.

Prone Position: 

Makarasana, Niralambasana, Marjari Asana , Bhujangasana, Sarpasana, Ardha Shalabhasana, Shalabhasna, Naukasana (Prone), and Dhanurasana.


Meditative Pose:

Swastikasana, Samasana, Padmasana, Siddhasana.

Pranayama:- (Breathing techniques)

Bhastrika, Anuloma Viloma, Ujjayi, Suryabhedana, Chandrabhedana, Shitali, Sitkari, and Bhramari.

Mudras and Bandhas:-

Brahma Mudra, Simha Mudra, Jivha Bandha, Mula Bandha, Jalandhara Bandha, Uddiyana Bandha (Bahya/Antar).

Dhyana (Meditation), and Yoga Nidra: 

Dynamic Meditation, Zen Meditation, Vipasana, Deha dharana , Prana dharana, Kriya yoga, Chakra meditation

Shatkarmas (Detox Practices)

Neti, Dhauti, Nauli, Basti, Trataka, Kapalabhati, and Vamana.


Yoga Philosophy & Scriptures:

Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita and Shiva Samhita:

 Explanation of Asanas , Pranayama, Mudras & Bandhas , Dhayana, Suddhi kriya and Samadhi .


Therapeutic Yoga Practices for Disease Management: -

Detail Study of Patanjali Yoga Sutra
